Manitoba's New Holiday has a Name

Thank you Manitoba students!

Manitoba schools were invited to name our province’s newest holiday and 114 responded with suggestions that reflected Manitoba’s citizenship, history, culture, arts, sports and significant individuals from our past. Our sincere thanks to all the schools who participated and the MB4Youth Advisory Council who assisted in choosing the name.


A $1,000 library grant for winners

The following eleven schools submitted the winning entry and received $1,000 grants to purchase materials for their school library:

• Christian Heritage School • Killarney School
• Collège St. Norbert Collegiate • McCreary School
• École Bonaventure • Roseau Valley School
• École élémentaire
  Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes
• St. Boniface Diocesan
  High School
• Starbuck School
