Manitoba Tax Assistance Office

Objectives

To inform and assist residents of Manitoba on the proper application of Manitoba income tax and tax credit programs and to monitor all claims to ensure accuracy, to correct inaccurate claims and to recover ineligible amounts previously claimed by taxpayers.

Activity Identification

To provide information to taxpayers on programs listed below and administer these programs with the Canada Customs and Revenue Agency.

To process benefit applications or registration forms for these various programs.

To prepare a small number of tax returns for specific individuals requiring assistance primarily with completing the Manitoba portion of the income tax return.

Expected Results

Residents of Manitoba to receive information with regard to Manitoba programs enabling them to report accurate amounts and to claim eligible benefits.
