| Program Description |
This program is a combination of theory and practical welding. Theory sessions are a combination of demonstrations, discussions, slide presentations, welding techniques and safety procedures. Instruction in Mathematics is an important component during this time. Practical Welding consists of using Oxy/Acetylene equipment, M.I.G., T.I.G., and Arc welding equipment, as well as working in a production environment. The ongoing use of the Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) Certification testing continues to demonstrate the Centre's ability to train to Industry standards. This certification is transferable to a fully certified ticket once the trainee has completed 3 months employment with a CWB certified employer.
