The BUILDING Foundations Bursary Fund

A chance to learn. A chance to grow.

Manitoba Housing understands the vital role education plays in improving the quality of life of young Manitobans.

That's why Manitoba Housing has established an annual bursary fund that provides nine $1,000 bursaries to students living in subsidized rental housing units in Manitoba. The following bursaries are available to students like you:
Bursary

Helping fund the education of young Manitobans living in subsidized rental housing

Bursaries will be granted to students living in a Manitoba Housing unit, a subsidized social housing unit associated with Manitoba Housing (ex: non-profit, co-op, urban native or rural and native), or a housing unit in the private market receiving a rental subsidy from Manitoba Housing (ex: Rent Supplement or Manitoba Shelter Benefit).

Bursary for Graduate Students

$1,000 available to one graduate student attending a university in Manitoba in the fall and studying in any field. The student will be offered a summer internship with Manitoba Housing if a position suitable to the applicant's field of study exists. This will assist the applicant in gaining practical experience and will provide additional income to the bursary.

Bursary for University Students

$1,000 available to four students who will be starting or continuing to study in an undergraduate degree program at a Manitoba university in the fall. At least two bursaries will be allocated to Aboriginal persons.*
Bursary

Bursary for College Students

$1,000 available to four students who will be starting or continuing to study in a college program at a Manitoba college in the fall. The college program must be at least one academic year in length. At least two bursaries will be allocated to Aboriginal persons.*

*An Aboriginal person is defined as a person of North American Aboriginal ancestry, either Métis, Inuit, Status Indian or Non-status Indian.
