Description

Subsidized housing managed by community based private non-profit organizations.

A variety of housing options are available to provide affordable and subsidized accommodation primarily targeted for seniors who are living on low or moderate incomes.

Coverage

Individual Operating Agreements between Manitoba Housing and the community based private non-profit organizations provide a limited number of rental units that may be based on 1) Rent-Geared-To-Income ratio of household income (25% studio, 27% one bedroom) or 2) a Manitoba Housing pre-authorized minimum rent (set below market).

Each private non-profit organization is subsidized by Manitoba Housing to provide reduced rent for eligible tenants, primarily targeted for low to moderate income seniors. Studio apartments are typically rented to single persons and one bedroom apartments are normally rented to couples.
