Subsidized housing managed by Aboriginal community based private non-profit organizations. A variety of housing options are available to provide affordable and subsidized accommodation for Aboriginal families, seniors and persons with disabilities who are living on low or moderate incomes. |

Individual operating agreements between the Manitoba Housing and Aboriginal Community based private non-profit organizations provide rental units that based on a Rent-Geared-To-Income ratio of household income (24% studio, 27% one bedroom). Each private non-profit organization is subsidized by Manitoba Housing to provide reduced rent for eligible tenants, targeted for low to moderate income Aboriginal seniors, families and individuals with disabilities. Studio apartments are typically rented to single persons and one bedroom apartments are normally rented to couples. Families are housed based on National Housing standards, also used by Manitoba Housing. |
