Minister’s Message

As Minister of Manitoba Family Services and Labour, I am pleased to welcome you to our website. You will find a wide range of information about our programs and services, as well as links to non-governmental programs and services that may be of use to you.

Manitoba Family Services and Labour plays an important role in furthering the well-being and safety of our province’s children, families, vulnerable citizens and communities. Our website highlights the ongoing, significant work we do to support persons with disabilities, improve the child welfare system, counter sexual exploitation, prevent family violence and provide family conciliation.

Parents can use our site to find reliable information about parenting and child development at www.manitobaparentzone.ca. You can find local child care through Manitoba’s online child care registry at www. onlinechildcareregistry.gov.mb.ca.

This website also provides information for workers and employers about important labour issues, including fair treatment on the job, labour-management relations and conciliation, mediation and pay equity. You will find helpful information about staying safe and healthy on the job at www.safemanitoba.com.

We will keep this site updated as we move forward in making Manitoba a better place to work and live and I invite you to visit often. I welcome your ideas and comments. As Minister Responsible for Persons with Disabilities, and Minister Responsible for the Status of Women, I know the value and importance of working with the broader community to address challenges and foster positive change.

Please contact me if you have ideas on how to improve this site, or if you have questions about our programs and services. Your comments help us ensure this website continues to be valuable to all Manitobans, as we work to serve you better.

Jennifer Howard, Minister
Manitoba Family Services and Labour
