Vocational Rehabilitation Program
The Vocational Rehabilitation Program of Manitoba Family Services and Housing (FSH) offers a wide range of employment focused services to assist adults with disabilities in preparing for, obtaining and maintaining employment.
To be eligible for Vocational Rehabilitation, a person must be:
- a resident of Manitoba with a mental, psychiatric, learning or physical disability
- 16 years of age or older
- legally entitled to work in Manitoba and show a willingness to prepare for, obtain and maintain employment
People with a mental, psychiatric or learning disability receive services through FSH Regional Offices. For more information, please contact a Winnipeg Service Location or Rural and Northern Service Location in your area.
For individuals with physical disabilities, Vocational Rehabilitation services are provided through three designated agencies.

Employment and Training Centres
In addition to case co-ordination services provided by the provincial and designated agency service delivery system, a range of specialized agencies are utilized extensively to provide services in accordance with an individual’s Vocational Plan. These agencies are referred to as Employment and Training Centres and are funded by Manitoba Family Services and Housing.

Supported Employment Agencies
Within the continuum of services provided under the provincial Vocational Rehabilitation Program, Supported Employment Agencies have expertise in finding employment for people with disabilities in integrated settings and providing them and their employers with ongoing support.
The aim of Supported Employment is real work paying minimum wage or better or the standard pay for any particular position. FSH provides funding to 15 Supported Employment Agencies throughout Manitoba, 10 in rural Manitoba and 5 in Winnipeg:
