New Home Defect Warranties Public Consultation Paper

New Home Defect Warranties Public Consultation Paper Most new homes in Manitoba are well-built but sometimes costly defects occur.
That is why the Manitoba government will be developing legislation to build in warranties on all new homes purchased by consumers in the province.

  • What defects do you think should be covered by the warranty and for how long?
  • In addition to houses and condominiums, should other types of new homes such as cottages and ready-to-move homes be protected by the warranty?

Share your experiences

We also want to know about your experience with a new house, condominium or other new home.

  • If your home had construction related defects, what were they?
  • Was your home covered by a warranty?
  • Were the defects corrected to your satisfaction and, if not, why were you dissatisfied?

This is your opportunity to share your views with the provincial government.
