Legislative Assembly Management Commission
The Legislative Assembly Management Commission, commonly
known as LAMC, is governed by The
Legislative
Assembly Management Commission Act. It consists of
representatives from recognized parties, and is chaired by the Speaker. The
Clerk of the Legislative Assembly is secretary to the Commission. The
Commission meets at the call of the Speaker.
The Commission oversees the financial management of the Assembly and
establishes budgets and administrative policies for Assembly offices. It
also reviews the budgets of independent officers who report to the Assembly
(the Auditor General, the Chief Electoral Officer, the Children's Advocate, the Ombudsman
and the Conflict of Interest Commissioner).
The Commission reports to the Assembly at least once a year.
