Update on Services in Manitoba Related to Hepatitis C

Manitobans infected with Hepatitis C through the Canadian blood supply before 1986 and after 1990 may be eligible to receive a one-time payment of $10,000 from the Manitoba government. These funds complement the care that is provided through Manitoba’s insured health services.

Funding is provided for the provision of comprehensive services and supports for patients with Hepatitis C in acute care and community-based programs. This includes enhanced comprehensive diagnosis, care and treatment provided through specialized medical services, primary care services, mental health counseling, public health nursing, prevention activities and outreach services. Access to these Winnipeg-based services are available to all Manitobans. Contact your physician or Public Health Nurse.
