New Public Health Act in effect April 1, 2009

Manitoba’s new Public Health Act came into effect on April 1, 2009, establishing a new legislative framework that will help the province anticipate and respond to public health emergencies. The new act also creates a framework for the other provincial public health functions, such as health surveillance, disease and injury prevention, and population health assessments.
