Manitoba Bike Helmet Safety Course

On May 1st, 2013 a law took effect in Manitoba that mandates the use of bicycle helmets for cyclists under the age of 18. If you are under 18, and not wearing a bike helmet while cycling, or are a parent or guardian of someone under 18 that is not wearing a bike helmet while cycling, you can be ticketed under the Highway Traffic Act.

This law also provides an alternative to paying a fine, for cyclists who have received their first ticket for not wearing a helmet. They can take the Manitoba Bike Helmet Safety Course and have their fine dismissed.

We encourage parents & their children to both take part in this educational opportunity.

I have a first ticket
and want to take the course
to dismiss my ticket
I don't have a ticket
but want to take the course
for education only
