Manitoba Agriculture, Food, and Rural Initiatives |
A volunteer delivered program offered to students to increase
their awareness of hazards on farms. The program was developed
by the University of North Dakota and adapted to meet Manitoba's
needs. Volunteer trainers are not available in all areas of
the province. Training programs are available for those persons
interested in volunteering. |

Speaking presentations on topics related to farm safety and
health, including risk recognition, statistical reviews, selection,
use and care of personal protective equipment, elements of
safety and health program. |

Progressive
Agriculture Safety Day |

A community safe day event consisting of small group presentations
on a variety of regionally focused topics. Presenters follow
an internationally established program to ensure content accuracy.
Applications to host a safety day must be submitted prior
to July 15 of the preceding year for approval. The safety
day coordinator must be trained by the Progressive Agriculture
Foundation (training is free). |

(CFA) remind farm machinery operators to stay alert where
field and farmstead access roads cross train tracks. |
