Localized Improvement Fund For Tomorrow program

The Localized Improvement Fund For Tomorrow (LIFT) program will help revitalize five new localities in Winnipeg over the next four years.

The Localized Improvement Fund For Tomorrow (LIFT) program will address community concerns about neighbourhood decline within Winnipeg, outside the inner city by helping to make these neighbourhoods safer and more attractive while offering more educational, recreational and social opportunities for families.

LIFT will provide $90,000 annually for the next four years for capacity building projects in the following communities:

  • Elwick
  • Weston
  • Osborne Mayfair
  • Alpine Lavallee
  • South Pembina

Neighbourhoods Alive! helps foster stronger, safer, more inclusive communities by providing resources and support to local community groups for initiatives that enhance opportunities for:

  • community participation
  • recreation
  • employment
  • well-being

LIFT will support a broad range of capacity building projects focusing on priorities such as:

  • community economic development
  • greening
  • safety
  • recreation
  • well-being of local residents

LIFT intake dates for 2012 are May 1, June 29 and October 15.
