Accommodation Options

There is a wide range of accommodation options for international students in Manitoba:

• Homestay - staying with a host family that provides a private room and daily meals for a monthly fee. Families are carefully screened and approved by the educational institutions. For further information ask about the availability of homestay programs at your institution of choice.
• Private housing (rooms, apartments, houses) – You will be responsible for making these arrangements on your own but inquire at your selected institution for information to assist you in your search.
• Student Residences/Dormitories (in institutions that offer such options) – Apply directly to the institution. Demand is normally very high so you may need to apply long before you even know if you are accepted to the educational institution.
• Friends or family.

Students under 18 year of age will be required to show proof of guardianship/custodianship and are not allowed to live on their own.
There are a number of options available for temporary accommodation (hotels, bed and breakfast etc.) if you are unable to access your long-term accommodation when you arrive. To view a range of options click here:
