Key Information

• Location: Heartland is located in a modern and spacious building in downtown Winnipeg. Facilities include computer room (with free internet), listening lab, student lounge, theatre, kitchen and more. Heartland is easily accessible by bus and conveniently located near several restaurants, stores and tourist attractions.
• Accommodation Options: Homestay
• Health Insurance Requirement: Heartland requires students to have Health Insurance prior to commencing classes. Student Guard Health Insurance is available at Heartland for students to purchase if they have not purchased insurance beforehand.
• Student Population: During the summer months, Heartland averages between 80-100 students. During the winter months, Heartland averages between 40-60 students.
• Study Periods: Heartland offers flexible enrolment. Students are welcome to begin classes on any Monday throughout the year and study for any length of time (from 1-week to 1-year).

Program Details

• The Access Program is a flexible ESL program focusing on conversation. Students may begin classes any Monday and study for any length of time. Students have afternoon options such as pronunciation, writing, reading, idioms and slang, grammar and others. • The Impact Program is an accelerated and concentrated ESL program. There is equal emphasis on speaking, listening, reading and writing. Each level is eight weeks long. Students have weekly tests and receive a grade at the end of the program. The Impact Program is ideal for students who want to improve their English skills quickly. • The Focus Program is an ESL program for specific purposes. Currently, the Focus Program alternates between TOEFL and TOEIC exam preparation. (www.heartlandenglish.com/programs/focus.html)

• The Homestay Program offers an opportunity for students to live with a Canadian family. Homestays are a great way for students to learn about Canadian culture and practice their English. Our homestay families are friendly and genuinely care about international students. Homestays include a private room and three meals per day. Tuition and Fees

Access Program:
Tuition: $900 for 4-weeks; Application Fee: $100.

Impact Program:
Tuition: $1800 for 8-weeks; Appliction Fee: $100; Textbook: $45.

Focus Program:
Tuition: $1800 for 8-weeks; Application Fee: $100; Textbook: $50.

Homestay Program:
$165 per month; Placement Fee: $200
