• Location: Nelson McIntyre Collegiate is centrally located in Winnipeg. It is in the heart of Winnipeg. The school is easily accessible by bus from most residential areas. It is set in a well established and safe environment. It is surrounded by a close knit community. The safety of the students is a number one priority in the neighborhood. In walking distance from the school there are many interesting places to visit and shop, example "The Forks Market".

• Accommodation Options: Homestay
• Health Insurance Requirement: Purchasing Health Insurance is compulsory for International Students attending school in Louis Riel School Division. Medical Insurance will cost approximately $500.00 for the school year. Medical Insurance can be purchased at the school once the student has arrived in Canada.
• Student Population: Being a small high school, Senior 1 to Senior 4 allows us to give the International Students a lot of attention. School administration and staff members have the opportunity to get to know the International Students on an individual basis. Every semester we welcome approximately twenty International Students. Some International Students will enroll for their entire high school years, from Senior 1 to Senior 4 while others will enroll only for their Senior 4 year.
• Study Periods: Our school year begins in September and ends in June. Nelson McIntyre Collegiate operates on a semester system. Semester One starts in September and ends in January. Semester Two starts in February and ends in June.
  A student may choose to enroll in Semester One or Semester Two. A Senior 4 (grade 12) student has the opportunity to graduate in one semester.

Institutional Profile

Our International Student Program operates out of Nelson McIntyre Collegiate.

The International Student Program in Louis Riel School Division has been operating for the past twenty years.

We provide excellent services to our International Students. One of our strong points is having the Director of the Program work directly in the school with the students. We strive to ensure that the International Students will have a memorable experience with us. One that will not only leave them with good memories and new friends but one that will allow them to continue their studies at the university level.

We will provide all the assistance needed in order to ensure the students qualify for the university of their choice.

Some of the services we provide are:

• English support class
• Homestays that are carefully cleared and screened by Criminal Records and Child Abuse Registry checks.
• Our International Program Director is on call 24/7 providing support to the Homestay families, assistance with renewal of Study Permits, medical issues, adapting to our culture and our environment and ensure there is communication between the families and herself.
• Ensuring that the parents receive their son or daughter's report cards and keeps the parents aware of how their child is adjusting.

Program Details

The Manitoba curriculum is offered in all of our schools in the Louis Riel School Division. Nelson McIntyre Collegiate offers all the necessary university entrance courses plus a wide variety of non compulsory courses. A student may specialize in areas like drama, art, band, choral, computer science and French.

Tuition and Fees

Application Fee: $100.00

Tuition Fee: $10,000.00 (for 2 semesters for students requiring a Homestay)

Tuition Fee: $8,000.00 (for 2 semesters for students not requiring a Hometay)

Homestay Fee: $600.00 per month

Medical Insurance: $500.00 per year
