  • Location: Mountain View School Division is located in the Parkland area of Manitoba, Canada. The division includes the communities of Dauphin, Ethelbert, Ochre-River, Winnipegosis, Gilbert Plains, Grandview and Roblin.

  • Health Insurance Requirement: Enrollment in division group plan is mandatory.
  • Student Population: Mountain View School Division has an enrollment of approximately 3200 students within 16 schools.

Mountain View School Division is pleased to offer the International Student Program to international students and parents interested in a unique educational experience in Canada.

Mountain View School Division is committed to providing challenging, rewarding educational programs for all International Students. Mountain View School Division has hosted students from Japan, Mexico, Korea, China, Hong Kong, Germany, France, Russia, Argentina, Austria, Brazil, Denmark, Finland, Holland, Sweden, Norway, Belgium, Indonesia, New Zealand, and Australia.

Each one of our schools is unique, and offers a wide variety of educational opportunities within each community. Each school places a strong emphasis on student learning and social responsibility within a safe, caring school environment.

We believe that a strong student support system is critical to a successful experience for our International Students. Our staff maintains continuous contact with our students, homestay families and schools. Our focus is to provide students with a successful educational experience, tempered with rewarding cultural experiences and extra-curricular opportunities.

Program Details

Mountain View School Division Offers:

Excellence in Academic and Vocational programming that emphasize Student Success, small class sizes; and highly experienced, professionally certified teachers. Mountain View provides Personal counseling, Career counseling, Post-secondary counseling, Visits and tours to Career Fairs and Universities/Colleges. The division also hosts a Regional Career Fair in February of each year.

Mountain View School Division Consists of 16 schools in 7 communities. Each community offers a diversity of experiences and homestay options. Each school is equipped with the latest, state-of-the-art equipment, including Satellite-video conferencing capabilities in designated facilities.

The schools in Mountain View School Division have a longstanding tradition of academic excellence. The continued success experience with the Provincial Examinations is demonstrative of our commitment to academic integrity. Our high schools offer both semestered and non-semestered timetables, and include a wide variety of programs to meet the needs of all of our learners. Although we prefer entry at the beginning of a semester, we do provide the opportunity for continuous intake through out the school year. The division also offers an Immersion program in French and a Ukrainian bilingual program, a successful band program, and numerous extra-curricular activities.

All fees are in Canadian Dollars and are subject to change.

Application Fee (non-refundable): $100.00

Tuition:

  • Semester $5 000.00
  • Full year (2 semesters) $10 000.00
  • Short Term Program - monthly $1 000.00

Homestay: Fee per month $550.00

Medical Insurance:

  • Full year coverage $600.00
  • Semester $300.00
  • Monthly $60.00

Enrollment Information

The Mountain View Experience:

Step 1: Complete a registration form. With your registration form you must include the following:

  • Original, certified transcript from last school attended for last two years
  • Letter of recommendation from Principal/School Official
  • A current photograph
  • Photocopies of: Birth Certificate, Driver's License (if applicable), passport showing passport number
  • Application fee of $100.00 payable to Mountain View School Division; fee is non-refundable
  • Make a photocopy of the application for your records

Step 2: Send the completed application to:

Step 3: Acceptance into the international program is decided by the Director of International Programs. A formal letter of acceptance, further documentation and tuition fee payment instructions will be forwarded. Once fees have been paid, an official Letter of Acceptance Guarantee will be issued. Once Letter of Acceptance Guarantee is received, immediately contact the nearest Citizenship and Immigration Canada office and request a VISA application form for a Study Permit. As this process can exceed eight weeks, please apply early. Please ensure that your passport is current.

Step 4: Homestay information and a general information package is sent to student to address individual student needs and questions which may arise.

Step 5: Student will be met at the Winnipeg International Airport by the Homestay Family or Director of International Programs. Student is introduced to their homestay family and community.

Step 6: International Student Orientation. Student is introduced to Principal and teachers. Timetable is established to meet the needs of the student.
