Institutional Profile

The Pembina Trails School Division's International Student Program represents the largest and longest-running international program in Manitoba for primary and secondary-aged students. Part of our school division is located in the university district of Manitoba. Many of our schools and Homestay families live within walking distance of the University of Manitoba.

One of our greatest strengths is the service that we provide to our international students. From beginning to end, we work hard at insuring that our international students have a memorable study abroad experience. This service includes orientations, strong ESL support in our schools, cultural excursions throughout the year, Homestays that are carefully screened and cleared by Criminal Records and Child Abuse Registry Checks, 24/7 support from our Homestay Department, assistance with Study Permit renewals and passports, and assistance with medical issues.

Our high schools are very strong in terms of academics. They are well recognized for the number of scholarships and awards received each year by graduating students. They also offer a wide variety of extra-curricular activities which our international students are welcome to join. Some schools offer an International Club that provides our international students with an opportunity to network with Canadian students.
