Health Insurance Requirement:
Mandatory international student health insurance coverage of $456.00/ year for single student.

Student Population:
Red River College serves an annual student population of over 32,000 full and part-time students. Approximately 6-8,000 students attend on a daily basis with others registered in continuing and distance education programs. Each year the college hosts approximately 300 international students from over 29 countries.

Study Periods:
The College offers one year certificate, two-three year diploma, joint-degree and post-graduate advanced diploma programs with most programs beginning in September. English as an Additional Language programs for international students begin monthly.

Special Offer Programming for International Students:

International Business:
a one-year post graduate advanced diploma program with a January entry designed to provide well-qualified graduates for the international business environment. This interactive program includes a work term component over the summer months to enable program participants to work in an organization involved in trade, either in the public or private sector.

Technology Management:
This one-year advanced diploma program begins each September. It is specifically targeted to graduates with technical diplomas and degrees who want to complement their technical skills with equally important managerial skills in areas such as corporate finance and accounting, project management, marketing strategy, and human resource management.

English as an Additional Language (EAL):
RRC's EAL Program for international students offers flexible start and end dates that are designed to fit your schedule. You can choose the number of months you wish to study at the time that is convenient for you. Please refer to RRC website for further details.

Tuition and Fees

Tuition and other fees varies by program with the most popular programs ranging from $7,200 to $ $13,500 per year (estimate of yearly fees is available on the website). You will also be required to pay for textbooks and mandatory international student health insurance coverage.

Entrance Requirements

Entrance requirements include: equivalent or Canadian high school Grade 12, specific program prerequisites, and advanced language skills.

RRC academic programs are fast-paced, very demanding, and require a high level of English language proficiency. To meet the language requirement for direct entrance into these programs you are required to submit evidence of your language proficiency by providing any one of the following test results:

  • TOEFL - (Test of English as a Foreign Language) minimum of 550 (PBT), 213 (CBT), 79-80 (IBT)
  • CanTEST - minimum of 4.5 in Reading & Listening sections, 4.0 in Speaking & Writing sections
  • IELTS - (International English Language Testing System) minimum of Band 6.5
  • MELAB - achieve minimum score of 80
  • CAEL - achieve minimum score of 60 or more
  • Successful completion of Red River College Academic English Program for University and College Entrance (AEPUCE). Must achieve minimum score of 65% (See RRC EAL program brochure or visit RRC website for further information on this program);
  • RRC Language Training Centre placement tests for in Canada applicants (testing fees apply).
