Key Information

  • Location: Town of Morden. (One hour south-west of Winnipeg.)
  • Accommodation Options: Home stay
  • Health Insurance Requirement: Health Insurance is required for admission. Our current plan is with the Great West Life Medical Insurance Plan.
  • Student Population: Morden Collegiate has approximately 580 students. Ecole Morden Middle School has approximately 525 students. We typically have about 14 to 18 international students between the two schools. We are prepared to accept up to 20 students in total. Research has shown that small schools promote student success. Our schools are ideal for promoting student academic and social success.
  • Study Periods: Our intake is typically in September or the end of January. We welcome students for one or two semesters.

  • Class size in Gr. 5-8 varies between 22-28; High school classes vary from 13 - 28.
  • Morden Collegiate was built in 1963 and had a new wing added in the mid-1970's. Ecole Morden Middle School received a major facelift in 1995. Both schools are clean, bright, and spacious.
  • Our teachers are dedicated and committed to students achieving success.

Program Details

  • Morden Collegiate offers the Manitoba high school curriculum.
  • International students are enrolled in a university entrance program and may enroll in an English as a Second Language program.
  • Morden Collegiate is a member of the Red River Technology and Vocational Area (RRTVA) which offers a wide-range of vocational and technology programs. Eg. Welding, Information Technology, Culinary Arts, Power Mechanics, Health Care Aide, etc.
  • Morden Collegiate has advanced placements courses in English and Calculus.
  • Morden Collegiate appreciates the value of travel as a learning experience. The hockey team traveled to a tournament in Toronto , Ontario in Dec. 2003. French classes have traveled to France on a regular basis. Our concert choir will participate in Canada Day activities in Ottawa on July 1, 2005. Our concert bands participate, from time to time, in national events like the Rocky Mountain Music Festival in Banff , Alberta .
  • The majority of Morden Collegiate graduates attend university or college after graduating.

Tuition and Fees

Western School Division's tuition fees for international students are:

  • $10,000 for a full-year (ten months) school year or $5,000 per semester.
  • $550/month for the home stays
  • Tuition Fee reductions are available for early enrolment.
