Manitoba Economy: Provincial Support for Research and InnovationUnder the Manitoba Industrial Opportunities Program the government provides term loans to assist businesses to expand in Manitoba. The loans are reserved for opportunities that create significant strategic economic benefit, e.g. job creation, sectoral development, etc. The loans are offered on commercial terms, however, the terms can be quite flexible if the opportunity provides significant economic development. Loans typically are in excess of $500,000.

Labour Sponsored Venture Capital Corporation Program

Ensis Growth FundUnder the Labour Sponsored Venture Capital Corporation the government provides tax incentives to assist Manitoba based businesses to expand. Labour Sponsored Investment Funds are for profit, privately managed publicly listed venture capital. The tax incentives are provided to the retail investors who purchase the shares of the Funds. The Funds provide private equity and debt financings to small and medium sized companies. The financings are offered on commercial terms and can be quite flexible. Financings typically are in excess of $500,000.
