The results of competitive bidding on May 15, 2013 for Crown oil and gas rights which was offered by the Department of Innovation, Energy and Mines, resulted in a total of $448,040.60 being added to provincial revenue.
Seventeen lease parcels, covering 1312 hectares (3241.95 acres) were sold for a bonus amount totaling $436,648.60. The average price per hectare for lease parcels sold was $332.81 ($134.68 per acre).
Fire Sky Energy Inc., paid the highest price per hectare for a parcel located in the Daly Sinclair area. The firm paid $1,388.89 per hectare ($562.07 per acre) as a tender bonus.
This is the second of four sales scheduled for 2013. The next sale will be held on August 14, 2013. The deadline for posting requests is May17, 2013.
