Information Synopsis of Manitoba's
August 16, 2006 Oil Lease Sale
|
The results
of competitive bidding on August 16, 2006 for Crown oil
and gas rights which was offered by the Department of
Industry, Economic Development and Mines, resulted in a
total of $321,450.84 being added to provincial revenue. |

All of the
twenty-two lease parcels offered, covering 1824 hectares
(4,560 acres) were sold for a bonus amount totaling
$306,266.84. The average price per hectare for lease
parcels sold was $167.91 ($67.16 per acre). The average
bonus at the last sale held on May 17, 2006 was $132.68
($53.07 per acre). |

Silver Hawk
Resources Ltd. paid the highest price per hectare for
parcels located in the Goodlands area.
The firm paid $398.44 per hectare ($159.38 per acre) as
a tender bonus. |

This is the
third of four sales scheduled for 2006. The next sale
will be held on November 8, 2006. The deadline for
posting requests is August 18, 2006. |
