Information Synopsis of Manitoba's
February 16, 2000 Lease Sale

The results of competitive bidding on February 16, 2000 for Crown oil and gas rights which was offered by the Department of Conservation, resulted in a total of $267,643.44 being added to provincial revenue.
 
All nineteen(19) lease parcels offered, covering 2247 hectares (5,617 acres), were sold for a bonus amount totaling $252,179.85.  The average price per hectare for lease parcels sold was $112.24 ($44.90 per acre).  The average bonus at the last sale held on November 17, 1999 was $154.56 ($61.82 per acre).
 
The highest price per hectare was paid by Renaissance Energy Ltd. for a parcel located in the Kirkella area.  The firm paid $278.63 per hectare ($111.45 acre) as a tender bonus.
This is the first of four sales scheduled for 2000.
 
The next sale will be held on May 24, 2000.  The deadline for posting requests is February 18, 2000.
