Information Synopsis of Manitoba's
February 15, 2006 Oil Lease Sale
The results of competitive
bidding on February 15, 2006 for Crown oil and gas rights
which was offered by the Department of Industry, Economic
Development and Mines, resulted in a total of $920,601.53
being added to provincial revenue.
Thirty-seven of the forty-four lease parcels offered,
covering 3475 hectares (8,687
acres), were sold for a bonus amount totaling $893,639.97.
The average price per hectare for lease parcels sold was
$257.18 ($102.87 per acre). The average bonus at the last
sale held on November 9, 2005 was $220.69 ($88.28 per acre).
Scott Land & Lease Ltd. paid the highest price per hectare
for a parcel located in the Kirkella area. The firm paid
$1,212.84 per hectare ($485.14 per acre) as a tender bonus.
This is the first of four sales scheduled for 2006. The
next sale will be held on May 17, 2006. The deadline for
posting requests is February 17, 2006. |
