Information Synopsis of Manitoba's
May 14, 2003 Lease Sale
The results of competitive bidding on May 14, 2003 for Crown oil
and gas rights which was offered by the Department of Industry,
Trade and Mines, resulted in a total of $138,618.20 being added
to provincial revenue.

Twenty-five of the 36 lease parcels offered, covering 2736
hectares (6,840 acres), were sold for a bonus amount totaling
$119,042.20. The average price per hectare for lease parcels
sold was $43.51 ($17.40 per acre). The average bonus at the
last sale held February 12, 2003 was $117.69 ($47.08 per acre).

Chevron Canada Limited paid the highest price per hectare for a
parcel located in the Kirkella Field area. The firm paid
$120.00 per hectare ($48.00 per acre) as a tender bonus.

This is the second of four sales scheduled for 2003.

The next sale will be held on August 13, 2003. The deadline for
posting requests is May 16, 2003. |
