Manitoba Growth, Enterprise and Trade

Manitoba Jobs and Skills Development – designs and implements a broad range of labour market programs and services and works with individuals, employers and communities to help develop and apply needed skills.  Programs and services are delivered through three service delivery entities: Industry Workforce Development (IWD), Apprenticeship Manitoba and Employment Manitoba.

  • Industry Services -- promotes private sector involvement and investment in human resource development and workplace training, and to link skill development and provincial economic development. IWD partners with industry to assess training needs and to implement short and long-term training strategies to develop a skilled workforce for continued provincial economic growth.   • Apprenticeship Manitoba -- is responsible for the administration of The Apprenticeship and Trades Qualifications Act and its associated regulations, and Apprenticeship programs for over 50 trades. The Branch coordinates the training and qualifications system that delivers accredited, structured, workplace-based skills and technical training to apprentices, leading to journeyperson certification.
