Safety and justice for all is at the heart of our work at Manitoba Justice. Working with our communities, we continue to develop and refine programs and services to help Manitobans feel safe in their homes, on the job, on our roads and in our neighbourhoods.
Throughout our website, you will find reader-friendly information to help you better understand our justice system and how it works for you.
You will see how we are protecting Manitobans by cracking down on crime. We have introduced creative and meaningful anti-gang legislation to promote safe, peaceful neighbourhoods and reduce crime. Our province has some of the toughest penalties in Canada for impaired driving and our domestic violence prevention laws send a firm message that criminal behaviour will not be tolerated, on the street or at home.
Family law programs, services and court procedures are also discussed here, emphasizing timely, low-conflict solutions to such matters as separation, divorce and child custody.
You will find more information about our work in developing Aboriginal Justice Initiatives that help bridge any cultural gaps in providing safety and justice for all residents.
I am proud of my department and the men and women who dedicate themselves to the administration of law and order in our province. We will continue to strive for the highest standards of justice and service for the public we are privileged to serve.
