Learning English

Manitoba offers free English classes

Good English language skills will help you find a job, communicate with neighbours and people in stores and offices, and adjust to living in the Manitoba city or town you‘ve chosen as your new home.

Free classes for every level
Manitoba offers free “English as an Additional Language” classes to adult newcomers. There are “EAL” classes for levels from beginner to advanced.

To find out what program is right for you: If you have lived here less than three months go to the office of our ENTRY Program. If you have lived here more than three months go to our Language Assessment Centre.

Choice of class time
English classes are held full-time and part-time, days and evenings, to fit your schedule at home and at work. See our list of Winnipeg EAL Programs and Regional EAL Programs.
