WORK START
Learn language for employment


Work Start classes teach the basic English communication skills you need to get an entry-level job.

Work Start is recommended for people with a Canadian Language Benchmark of 3, 4 or 5. But you do not need to have a language assessment to register. (If you have low benchmarks in reading and writing you should take a different program, called Work Start Literacy. Phone 953-1070 for information.)

At Work Start you will learn about:

  • working safely
  • following directions
  • the Canadian workplace “culture”
  • writing a resume, applying for a job
  • going to an interviewing
  • day-to-day English language skills

Classes are held Monday to Friday, 9:15 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. You will attend classes for four weeks.

There are no sessions held in August and December.
