Welcoming Communities

Manitoba Labour and Immigration is now accepting Expressions of Interest from service providers and community organizations for submitting proposals under its Welcoming Communities Manitoba initiative by May 30, 2008. 

 

Welcoming Communities Manitoba initiative was launched by Manitoba Labour and Immigration to promote the strengthened participation of new immigrants in civil society and foster more inclusive and welcoming communities for new immigrants.  Welcoming Communities Manitoba receives its funding from Citizenship and Immigration Canada’s (CIC) Welcoming Communities Initiative.  CIC’s Welcoming Communities Initiative is a component of the Government of Canada’s Action Plan Against Racism.  For more information on the Government of Canada’s Action Plan Against Racism, please visit:  http://www.canadianheritage.gc.ca/multi/plan_action_plan/index_e.cfm

 

Projects that will be considered for funding under this initiative must meet one of the following activity objectives:

 

The Expression of Interest should be no longer than one (1) page in length and include a brief synopsis of the planned project/initiative, a description of how it will advance the goals and objectives of Welcoming Communities Manitoba, preliminary total budget, additional funding sources and a brief description of your organization. 

Please note that each expression of interest must be submitted by May 30, 2008 for consideration.
