How ethnocultural communities can work with Manitoba Immigration and Multiculturalism
Manitoba Immigration and Multiculturalism is changing the way we work with ethnocultural communities who want to support applicants to the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program.
We are no longer asking ethnocultural communities to sign community-support agreements. But we invite you to work with us in one of the following ways:
Exploratory visits
Potential applicants who are making exploratory visits to Manitoba with the support of ethnocultural community organizations, and who want to meet with an MPNP program officer, must make arrangements several weeks in advance of their visit.
The MPNP reserves the right to arrange interviews at the program's discretion according to available resources, current program priorities and criteria.
Applicants who make a successful exploratory visit to Manitoba may be invited to apply under the Strategic Initiative stream after an interview with an MPNP program officer.

General stream
Individuals who are members of a community group or organization may support applications for consideration under our General stream by submitting affidavits of support on behalf of individuals known to them who meet MPNP eligibility criteria and who have the potential to be successful economic immigrants in Manitoba.
When considering affidavits of support the PNP will take into account the strength of the connection between the affidavit signatories and the success of applicants they have previously supported.
Affidavits of support from individuals who are members of an ethnocultural community group or organization submited on behalf of a General stream applicant demonstrate that the applicant has "family-like" support to help them adapt to life in Manitoba.
Criteria for PNP application streams including the signing of affidavits of support are explained in our application guidelines.
Each application to the MPNP will be assessed on its own merits, whether it has some form of community support or not.
