The mandate of the Mechanical and Engineering Branch of Workplace Safety and Health to promote safety awareness and encourage safe practices encompasses six Acts and their regulations. Public safety alerts have been published and are available for viewing. In addition, the March 31, 2001 complete consolidated Manitoba Acts and regulations are available in an online format as Manitoba Statutes - Free Electronic Statutes.
The work of administering the following legislation makes the Mechanical and Engineering Branch the authority in the design, construction, installation and operation of power and heating boilers, pressure vessels, pressure piping and refrigeration plants; elevators and elevating devices; gas- and oil-fired equipment; and amusement rides.
