Mr. Santos, Chairperson of the Committee of Supply, reported progress having been made on May 23, 2000. Report was received and the Committee of Supply obtained leave to sit again.

Hon. Ms. Mihychuk, the Minister of Industry, Trade and Mines made a statement regarding the Manitoba Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Awards, 2000,

Mr. Tweed commented on the statement.

Hon. Mr. Lemieux for Hon. Ms. Wowchuk presented:

Supplementary Information for Legislative Review 2000-2001 – Departmental Expenditure Estimates – Manitoba Agriculture and Food.

By leave, following Oral Questions, the House reverted to "Presenting Reports by Standing and Special Committees".

Mr. Santos, Chairperson of the Committee of Supply, presented the Report of the Proceedings of the Committee of May 23, 2000 as follows:

IN THE COMMITTEE

The following Resolutions were adopted:

7.2 RESOLVED that there be granted to HER MAJESTY a sum not exceeding ONE MILLION, EIGHT HUNDRED EIGHT THOUSAND, TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS for FINANCE:

TREASURY $1,808,200.00

for the fiscal year ending the 31st day of March, 2001.

 

7.3 RESOLVED that there be granted to HER MAJESTY a sum not exceeding FIFTEEN MILLION, ONE HUNDRED EIGHTY-EIGHT THOUSAND, THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS for FINANCE:

COMPTROLLER $15,188,300.00

for the fiscal year ending the 31st day of March, 2001.

Resolutions were reported.

Report was received and the Committee of Supply obtained leave to sit again.

Pursuant to Rule 23(1), Mrs. Driedger, Ms. Allan, Messrs. Penner (Emerson) and Aglugub and Hon. Mr. Gerrard made Members’ Statements.

On motion of Mr. Dyck:

ORDERED that the composition of the Standing Committee on Law Amendments be amended as follows:

      Mr. Penner (Emerson) for Mr. Filmon,

      Mr. Penner (Steinbach) for Mrs. Dacquay,

      Mr. Loewen for Mrs. Smith (Fort Garry).

ORDERED that the composition of the Standing Committee on Law Amendments be amended as follows:

      Hon. Mr. Lemieux for Hon. Ms. Barrett,

      Hon. Ms. Wowchuk for Hon. Mr. Mackintosh,

      Mr. Smith (Brandon West) for Ms. Allan.
