The following petition was presented:

Mrs. Dacquay – Minister of Justice encourage the Government of Manitoba to continue partnering with schools and law enforcement to ensure Winnipeg Police Athletic Clubs provide recreational and athletic activities. (L. Marsh, D. Blouin Lachance, D. Rigaux and others)

The following petition was read and received:

Mrs. Driedger – Minister of Justice encourage the Government of Manitoba to continue partnering with schools and law enforcement to ensure Winnipeg Police Athletic Clubs provide recreational and athletic activities. (J. Moore, D. Magnus, M. Gage and others)

Mr. Santos, Chairperson of the Committee of Supply, reported progress having been made on May 30, 2000. Report was received and the Committee of Supply obtained leave to sit again.

Hon. Ms. Mihychuk, the Minister of Industry, Trade and Mines made a statement regarding the 2000 Manitoba Provincial Mine Rescue Competition,

Mr. Praznik commented on the statement.

Pursuant to Rule 23(1), Mr. Dyck, Ms. Korzeniowski, Mrs. Smith (Fort Garry), Ms. Asper and Hon. Mr. Gerrard made Members’ Statements.

By unanimous consent, the sequence for consideration for estimates, as outlined in Sessional Paper No. 138 tabled on May 17, 2000, and subsequently amended, was further amended in order that Industry, Trade and Mines be considered in the Chamber for Wednesday, May 31, 2000, only.

By unanimous consent, the sequence for consideration of estimates, as outlined in Sessional Paper No. 138 tabled on May 17, 2000, and subsequently amended, was further amended in order that Agriculture and Food be considered in Room 254, for Wednesday, May 31, 2000, only.

Pursuant to Rule 12(5), Mr. Speaker appointed Mr. Reid, the Member for Transcona, Chairperson of the Committee of Supply for Wednesday, May 31, 2000, only.

Mr. Speaker having left the Chair and the House resolving itself into a Committee to consider of the Supply to be granted to Her Majesty;

And the House continuing in Committee.
