Monday, June 19, 2000 LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF MANITOBA VOTES AND PROCEEDINGS No. 47FIRST SESSION, THIRTY-SEVENTH LEGISLATURE PRAYERS 1:30 O’CLOCK P.M. Mr. Santos, Chairperson of the Committee of Supply, reported progress having been made on June 15, 2000. IN THE COMMITTEE In the section of the Committee of Supply sitting in Room 255, on Thursday June 15, 2000, considering the estimates of the Department of Labour, Mr. Laurendeau moved a motion "THAT this matter be reported to the House". A voice vote was held, whereupon a counted vote was requested and Members sitting in Room 254 and Room 255 returned to the Chamber. A counted vote was held on the motion, which was defeated (26-20). In the section of the Committee of Supply sitting in Room 254, on Thursday June 15, 2000, considering the estimates of the Department of Culture, Heritage and Tourism, a ruling of the Chair, respecting a motion moved by Mr. Derkach which was found to be out of order, was challenged. A voice vote was held, whereupon a counted vote was requested and Members sitting in Room 254 and Room 255 returned to the Chamber. A counted vote was held, which sustained the ruling (25-14). Report was received and the Committee of Supply obtained leave to sit again. ______________________________ The following Bills were, by leave, respectively introduced, had the purposes outlined thereof and were read a First Time: (No. 36) – The Summary Convictions Amendment Act/Loi modifiant la Loi sur les poursuites sommaires (Hon. Mr. Mackintosh) (No. 37) – The Miscellaneous Health Statutes Repeal Act/Loi abrogeant diverses lois en matière de santé (Hon. Penner (Steinbach) and Maloway made Members’ Statements. ______________________________
