VOTES AND PROCEEDINGS No. 52

FIRST SESSION, THIRTY-SEVENTH LEGISLATURE

PRAYERS

1:30 O’CLOCK P.M.

Mr. Santos, Chairperson of the Committee of Supply, presented the Report of the Proceedings of the Committee of June 26, 2000 as follows:

IN THE COMMITTEE

The following Resolutions were adopted:

3.1 RESOLVED that there be granted to HER MAJESTY a sum not exceeding TWO MILLION, SEVEN HUNDRED THIRTY-THREE THOUSAND, SEVEN HUNDRED DOLLARS for AGRICULTURE AND FOOD:

ADMINISTRATION AND FINANCE $2,733,700.00

for the fiscal year ending the 31st day of March, 2001.

3.6 RESOLVED that there be granted to HER MAJESTY a sum not exceeding TWO MILLION, FIVE HUNDRED SIXTY-FOUR THOUSAND, FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS for AGRICULTURE AND FOOD:

POLICY AND ECONOMICS $2,564,400.00

for the fiscal year ending the 31st day of March, 2001.

3.7 RESOLVED that there be granted to HER MAJESTY a sum not exceeding THREE MILLION, FIVE HUNDRED TWENTY FIVE THOUSAND, EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS for AGRICULTURE AND FOOD:

AGRICULTURE RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT $3,525,800.00

for the fiscal year ending the 31st day of March, 2001.

3.8 RESOLVED that there be granted to HER MAJESTY a sum not exceeding SIXTEEN MILLION TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS for AGRICULTURE AND FOOD:

AGRICULTURAL DISASTER AID PROGRAMMING $16,200,000.00

 

for the fiscal year ending the 31st day of March, 2001.

3.9 RESOLVED that there be granted to HER MAJESTY a sum not exceeding EIGHT HUNDRED THIRTY-FOUR THOUSAND, ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS for AGRICULTURE AND FOOD:

AMORTIZATION OF CAPITAL ASSETS $834,100.00

for the fiscal year ending the 31st day of March, 2001.

11.1 RESOLVED that there be granted to HER MAJESTY a sum not exceeding SIX HUNDRED SEVEN THOUSAND, ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS for LABOUR:

LABOUR EXECUTIVE $607,100.00

for the fiscal year ending the 31st day of March, 2001.

Resolutions were reported.

Report was received and the Committee of Supply obtained leave to sit again.

Mr. Speaker presented:

Report pursuant to Section 38(1) of the Indemnities, Allowances and Retirement Benefits Regulation for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2000.

Subsequently during Oral Questions, Mr. Laurendeau rose on a point of order concerning the use of the words "Minister of Gambling" by the Honourable Member for Southdale in addressing a question to the Honourable Minister of Consumer and Corporate Affairs,

And Hon. Mr. Mackintosh having spoken to the point of order,

WHEREUPON Mr. Speaker ruled that there was no point of order,

From his decision, Mr. Laurendeau appealed to the House.

And the Question being put,

"Shall the ruling of the Chair be sustained?"
