Wednesday, July 26, 2000 LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF MANITOBA VOTES AND PROCEEDINGS No. 68FIRST SESSION, THIRTY-SEVENTH LEGISLATURE PRAYERS 1:30 O’CLOCK P.M.
Mr. Santos, Chairperson of the Committee of Supply, presented the Report of the Proceedings of the Committee of July 25, 2000 as follows: IN THE COMMITTEE In the section of the Committee of Supply in the Chamber, on Tuesday July 25, 2000, considering the estimates of the Department of Education and Training, a voice vote was held on a motion moved by Mrs. Smith (Fort Garry) recommending that the Minister of Education and Training's salary be reduced. Whereupon a counted vote was requested and Members sitting in Room 254 and Room 255 returned to the Chamber. A counted vote was held on the motion, which was defeated (26-17). The following Resolutions were adopted: 12.1 RESOLVED that there be granted to HER MAJESTY a sum not exceeding SIX MILLION, THREE HUNDRED EIGHTY THOUSAND, ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS for CONSERVATION: ADMINISTRATION AND FINANCE $6,380,100.00 for the fiscal year ending the 31st day of March, 2001. 12.4 RESOLVED that there be granted to HER MAJESTY a sum not exceeding FIVE MILLION, NINE HUNDRED NINETY THOUSAND, TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS for CONSERVATION: LAND INFORMATION CENTRE $5,990,200.00 for the fiscal year ending the 31st day of March, 2001. 12.5 RESOLVED that there be granted to HER MAJESTY a sum not exceeding THREE MILLION, ONE HUNDRED NINETY THOUSAND, FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS for CONSERVATION: ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP $3,190,500.00 for the fiscal year ending the 31st day of March, 2001. 12.6 RESOLVED that there be granted to HER MAJESTY a sum not exceeding TEN MILLION, FOUR HUNDRED FORTY-SEVEN THOUSAND, FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS for CONSERVATION: ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT $10,447,400.00 for the fiscal year ending the 31st day of March, 2001. 12.7 RESOLVED that there be granted to HER MAJESTY a sum not exceeding ONE MILLION, ONE HUNDRED FORTY-FIVE THOUSAND, NINE HUNDRED DOLLARS for CONSERVATION: INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTE FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT $1,145,900.00 for the fiscal year ending the 31st day of March, 2001. 12.8 RESOLVED that there be granted to HER MAJESTY a sum not exceeding NINE MILLION, TWO HUNDRED FIFTEEN THOUSAND, THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS for CONSERVATION: INFRASTRUCTURE AND MINOR CAPITAL PROJECTS $9,215,300.00 for the fiscal year ending the 31st day of March, 2001. 12.9 RESOLVED that there be granted to HER MAJESTY a sum not exceeding TWO MILLION, FOUR HUNDRED EIGHTEEN THOUSAND, SEVEN HUNDRED DOLLARS for CONSERVATION: AMORTIZATION OF CAPITAL ASSETS $2,418,700.00 for the fiscal year ending the 31st day of March, 2001. 12.10 RESOLVED that there be granted to HER MAJESTY a sum not exceeding TWENTY-NINE MILLION, SEVEN HUNDRED SIXTY-THREE THOUSAND, EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS for CONSERVATION: FLOOD PROOFING PROGRAMS $29,763,800.00 for the fiscal year ending the 31st day of March, 2001. 16.2 RESOLVED that there be granted to HER MAJESTY a sum not exceeding TWENTY-THREE MILLION, FIVE HUNDRED NINETY THOUSAND, TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS for EDUCATION AND TRAINING: SCHOOL PROGRAMS $23,590,200.00 for the fiscal year ending the 31st day of March, 2001. 16.3 RESOLVED that there be granted to HER MAJESTY a sum not exceeding EIGHT MILLION, FIVE HUNDRED TEN THOUSAND, EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS for EDUCATION AND TRAINING: BUREAU DE L'ÉDUCATION FRANÇAISE $8,510,800.00 for the fiscal year ending the 31st day of March, 2001. 16.4 RESOLVED that there be granted to HER MAJESTY a sum not exceeding ONE HUNDRED FIFTY MILLION, FIVE HUNDRED TEN THOUSAND HUNDRED DOLLARS for EDUCATION AND TRAINING: PROPERTY TAX CREDITS $150,510,000.00 for the fiscal year ending the 31st day of March, 2001. 16.5 RESOLVED that there be granted to HER MAJESTY a sum not exceeding SEVEN HUNDRED TWENTY-ONE MILLION, EIGHT HUNDRED TWENTY-ONE THOUSAND, TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS for EDUCATION AND TRAINING: SUPPORT TO SCHOOLS $721,821,200.00 for the fiscal year ending the 31st day of March, 2001. 16.6 RESOLVED that there be granted to HER MAJESTY a sum not exceeding EIGHTY SIX MILLION, TWO HUNDRED SEVENTY-SIX THOUSAND, TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS for EDUCATION AND TRAINING: TRAINING AND CONTINUING EDUCATION $86,276,200.00 for the fiscal year ending the 31st day of March, 2001. 16.7 RESOLVED that there be granted to HER MAJESTY a sum not exceeding THREE HUNDRED SIXTY-SEVEN MILLION, THREE HUNDRED THOUSAND, FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS for EDUCATION AND TRAINING: SUPPORT FOR POST-SECONDARY EDUCATION $367,300,500.00 for the fiscal year ending the 31st day of March, 2001. 16.8 RESOLVED that there be granted to HER MAJESTY a sum not exceeding THIRTY EIGHT MILLION, FOUR HUNDRED TWENTY THOUSAND, FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS for EDUCATION AND TRAINING: CAPITAL GRANTS $38,420,500.00 for the fiscal year ending the 31st day of March, 2001. 16.9 RESOLVED that there be granted to HER MAJESTY a sum not exceeding ONE MILLION, NINE HUNDRED FORTY THOUSAND, FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS for EDUCATION AND TRAINING: AMORTIZATION OF CAPITAL ASSETS $1,940,500.00 for the fiscal year ending the 31st day of March, 2001. 17.1 RESOLVED that there be granted to HER MAJESTY a sum not exceeding TWO MILLION, EIGHT HUNDRED FIFTY-FOUR THOUSAND, THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS for CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION: CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION $2,854,300.00 for the fiscal year ending the 31st day of March, 2001. 17.2 RESOLVED that there be granted to HER MAJESTY a sum not exceeding ONE HUNDRED ONE THOUSAND, ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS for CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION: AMORTIZATION OF CAPITAL ASSETS $101,100.00 for the fiscal year ending the 31st day of March, 2001. 19.1 RESOLVED that there be granted to HER MAJESTY a sum not exceeding EIGHT HUNDRED SEVENTY-THREE THOUSAND, NINE HUNDRED DOLLARS for ABORIGINAL AND NORTHERN AFFAIRS: ABORIGINAL AND NORTHERN AFFAIRS EXECUTIVE $873,900.00 for the fiscal year ending the 31st day of March, 2001. 19.2 RESOLVED that there be granted to HER MAJESTY a sum not exceeding NINETEEN MILLION, FIVE HUNDRED NINETY-TWO THOUSAND, SEVEN HUNDRED DOLLARS for ABORIGINAL AND NORTHERN AFFAIRS: ABORIGINAL AND NORTHERN AFFAIRS OPERATIONS $19,592,700.00 for the fiscal year ending the 31st day of March, 2001. 19.3 RESOLVED that there be granted to HER MAJESTY a sum not exceeding TWO MILLION, SIX HUNDRED FOURTEEN THOUSAND, SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS for ABORIGINAL AND NORTHERN AFFAIRS: CAPITAL GRANTS $2,614,600.00 for the fiscal year ending the 31st day of March, 2001.
19.4 RESOLVED that there be granted to HER MAJESTY a sum not exceeding ONE HUNDRED THIRTY-FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS for ABORIGINAL AND NORTHERN AFFAIRS: AMORTIZATION OF CAPITAL ASSETS $135,000.00 for the fiscal year ending the 31st day of March, 2001. 22.1 RESOLVED that there be granted to HER MAJESTY a sum not exceeding ONE MILLION, ONE HUNDRED NINE THOUSAND, THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS for STATUS OF WOMEN: STATUS OF WOMEN $1,109,300.00 for the fiscal year ending the 31st day of March, 2001. 22.2 RESOLVED that there be granted to HER MAJESTY a sum not exceeding TWENTY-SEVEN THOUSAND, NINE HUNDRED DOLLARS for STATUS OF WOMEN: AMORTIZATION OF CAPITAL ASSETS $27,900.00 for the fiscal year ending the 31st day of March, 2001. During Oral Questions, Mr. Derkach rose on a matter of privilege and moved: THAT the Premier of this Province did breach the privileges of this member of the House by accusing me as a Member for the constituency of Russell for "covering up" a particular report when such a report was delivered during the election period, and that this matter be referred to the Committee on Privileges and Elections for the Committee’s consideration.
