LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF MANITOBA

VOTES AND PROCEEDINGS No. 71

FIRST SESSION, THIRTY-SEVENTH LEGISLATURE

PRAYERS

1:30 O’CLOCK P.M.

Mr. Santos, Chairperson of the Committee of Supply, presented the Report of the Proceedings of the Committee of July 31, 2000 as follows:

IN THE COMMITTEE

In the section of the Committee of Supply in Room 255, on Monday, July 31, 2000, considering the estimates of the Department of Health, a voice vote was held on a motion moved by Mrs. Driedger recommending that the Minister of Health's salary be reduced. Whereupon a counted vote was requested and Members sitting in Room 255 returned to the Chamber. A counted vote was held on the motion, which was defeated (29-19).

The following Resolutions were adopted:

21.4 RESOLVED that there be granted to HER MAJESTY a sum not exceeding TWO BILLION, TWO HUNDRED FORTY-SEVEN MILLION, EIGHT HUNDRED SEVENTY THOUSAND, FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS for HEALTH:

HEALTH SERVICES INSURANCE FUND $2,247,870,400.00

for the fiscal year ending the 31st day of March, 2001.

21.5 RESOLVED that there be granted to HER MAJESTY a sum not exceeding TEN MILLION, SIX HUNDRED SIXTEEN THOUSAND, THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS for HEALTH:

ADDICTIONS FOUNDATION OF MANITOBA $10,616,300.00

for the fiscal year ending the 31st day of March, 2001.

21.6 RESOLVED that there be granted to HER MAJESTY a sum not exceeding SEVENTY-FIVE MILLION, FOURTEEN THOUSAND, SEVEN HUNDRED DOLLARS for HEALTH:

CAPITAL GRANTS $75,014,700.00

for the fiscal year ending the 31st day of March, 2001.

 

21.7 RESOLVED that there be granted to HER MAJESTY a sum not exceeding TWO MILLION, ONE HUNDRED NINETY-TWO THOUSAND, SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS for HEALTH:

AMORTIZATION OF CAPITAL ASSETS $2,192,600.00

for the fiscal year ending the 31st day of March, 2001.

Resolutions were reported.

Report was received and the Committee of Supply obtained leave to sit again.

Hon. Mr. Lathlin, the Minister of Conservation, made a statement regarding an update of the fire fighting conditions in the northeastern Manitoba,

Mr. Cummings and, by leave, Hon. Mr. Gerrard commented on the statement.
