Immediately following Prayers, Mr. Penner (Emerson) rose on a matter of privilege and moved: THAT on Tuesday next, the ordinary business of the House be set aside to debate the socio-economic crisis rural Manitoba communities are experiencing due to the ongoing impact of the downturn in the grains, oilseeds and specialty crops sectors and the resultant negative impact on rural businesses, industries and communities alike. And Hon. Messrs. Mackintosh and Gerrard, Mr. Laurendeau and Hon. Mr. Selinger delivered to Mr. Speaker two messages from His Honour, the Lieutenant Governor of the Province of Manitoba as follows: PETER LIBA Lieutenant Governor The Lieutenant Governor transmits to the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, estimates of sums required for the services of the province for the fiscal year ending the 31st day of March 2002 and recommends these Estimates to the Legislative Assembly.

Mr. Selinger, the said messages, together with the Estimates accompanying the same, were referred to the Committee of Supply. ______________________________ Hon.
