Mr. Santos, Chairperson of the Committee of Supply, presented the Report of the Proceedings of the Committee of April 25, 2001 as follows:

IN THE COMMITTEE

The following Resolutions were adopted:

19.1 RESOLVED that there be granted to HER MAJESTY a sum not exceeding EIGHT HUNDRED NINETY-THREE THOUSAND, ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS for ABORIGINAL AND NORTHERN AFFAIRS:

ABORIGINAL AND NORTHERN AFFAIRS EXECUTIVE $893,100.00

for the fiscal year ending the 31st day of March, 2002.

19.2 RESOLVED that there be granted to HER MAJESTY a sum not exceeding TWENTY MILLION, THREE HUNDRED EIGHTY-TWO THOUSAND, FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS for ABORIGINAL AND NORTHERN AFFAIRS:

ABORIGINAL AND NORTHERN AFFAIRS OPERATIONS $20,382,500.00

for the fiscal year ending the 31st day of March, 2002.

19.3 RESOLVED that there be granted to HER MAJESTY a sum not exceeding THREE MILLION, ONE HUNDRED NINETY-THREE THOUSAND, THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS for ABORIGINAL AND NORTHERN AFFAIRS:

CAPITAL GRANTS $3,193,300.00

for the fiscal year ending the 31st day of March, 2002.

19.4 RESOLVED that there be granted to HER MAJESTY a sum not exceeding ONE HUNDRED THIRTY-FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS for ABORIGINAL AND NORTHERN AFFAIRS:

AMORTIZATION OF CAPITAL ASSETS $135,000.00

for the fiscal year ending the 31st day of March, 2002.

Resolutions were reported.

Report was received and the Committee of Supply obtained leave to sit again.

Hon. Ms. Barrett, the Minister of Labour and Immigration made statement recognizing April 28th as the National Day of Mourning for those who have died in the workplace.

Mr. Schuler and, by leave, Hon. Mr. Gerrard commented on the statement.

Hon. Mr. Lathlin, the Minister of Conservation made a statement regarding an update on the flooding conditions in southern Manitoba,

Mr. Penner (Emerson) and, by leave, Hon. Mr. Gerrard commented on the statement.

By leave, Hon. Mr. Sale introduced Bill (No. 13) – The Social Services Appeal Board and Consequential Amendments Act/Loi sur la Commission d'appel des services sociaux et modifications corrélatives, and outlined the purposes thereof, it was read a First Time.
