The following petitions were presented:

Mr. Schuler – Legislative Assembly of Manitoba request that the Minister responsible for Manitoba Hydro consider alternative routes for the additional 230KV and 500KV lines proposed for the RM of East St. Paul (Y. Desender, S. Vigini, J. Bell and others)

Mr. Pitura – Legislative Assembly of Manitoba request that the Premier of Manitoba consider reversing his decision to not support construction of an underpass at Kenaston and Wilkes (G. LeGras, F. Friesen, J. MacDonald and others)

Mr. Loewen – Legislative Assembly of Manitoba request that the Premier of Manitoba consider reversing his decision to not support construction of an underpass at Kenaston and Wilkes (S. Lemon, C. Melvor, D. Fox and others)

The following petitions were read and received:

Mr. Pitura – Legislative Assembly of Manitoba request that the Premier of Manitoba consider reversing his decision to not support construction of an underpass at Kenaston and Wilkes (G. Poirier, E. Lagacé, G. Vouriot and others)

Mr. Santos, Chairperson of the Committee of Supply, presented the Report of the Proceedings of the Committee of May 8, 2001 as follows:

 

IN THE COMMITTEE

The following Resolutions were adopted:

7.1 RESOLVED that there be granted to HER MAJESTY a sum not exceeding ONE MILLION, FOUR HUNDRED SIXTY-ONE THOUSAND, SEVEN HUNDRED DOLLARS for FINANCE:

ADMINISTRATION AND FINANCE $1,461,700.00

for the fiscal year ending the 31st day of March, 2002.

7.5 RESOLVED that there be granted to HER MAJESTY a sum not exceeding TWO MILLION, FOUR HUNDRED EIGHTY-THREE THOUSAND, SEVEN HUNDRED DOLLARS for FINANCE:

FEDERAL-PROVINCIAL RELATIONS AND

RESEARCH $2,483,700.00

for the fiscal year ending the 31st day of March, 2002.

7.6 RESOLVED that there be granted to HER MAJESTY a sum not exceeding THREE HUNDRED SEVENTY-FIVE THOUSAND, ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS for FINANCE:

INSURANCE AND RISK MANAGEMENT $375,100.00

for the fiscal year ending the 31st day of March, 2002.

7.7 RESOLVED that there be granted to HER MAJESTY a sum not exceeding FIVE MILLION, TWO HUNDRED TWO THOUSAND, FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS for FINANCE:

TREASURY BOARD SECRETARIAT $5,202,500.00

for the fiscal year ending the 31st day of March, 2002.

7.8 RESOLVED that there be granted to HER MAJESTY a sum not exceeding FOUR MILLION, SIX HUNDRED NINETY-SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS for FINANCE:

OFFICE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY $4,696,000.00

for the fiscal year ending the 31st day of March, 2002.

 

7.9 RESOLVED that there be granted to HER MAJESTY a sum not exceeding ONE MILLION, SIX HUNDRED EIGHTY-FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS for FINANCE:

AMORTIZATION OF CAPTIAL ASSETS $1,685,000.00

for the fiscal year ending the 31st day of March, 2002.

7.10 RESOLVED that there be granted to HER MAJESTY a sum not exceeding FIFTY-THREE MILLION, NINE HUNDRED FORTY THOUSAND DOLLARS for FINANCE:

NET TAX CREDIT PAYMENTS $53,940,000.00

for the fiscal year ending the 31st day of March, 2002.

Resolutions were reported.

Report was received and the Committee of Supply obtained leave to sit again.

Hon. Mr. Ashton, the Minister of Transportation and Government Services made a statement regarding an update on road conditions as a result of heavy moisture levels in certain areas of the province, including a Road Information Report as of May 9, 2001 at 8:30 a.m.,

Mr. Gilleshammer and, by leave, Hon. Mr. Gerrard commented on the statement.

Hon. Mr. Lathlin, the Minister of Conservation made a statement regarding an update on the flooding conditions in southern Manitoba,

Mr. Cummings commented on the statement.

By leave, Hon. Ms. Wowchuk introduced Bill (No. 20) – The Farm Products Marketing and Consequential Amendments Act/Loi sur la commercialisation des produits agricoles et modifications corrélatives, and outlined the purposes thereof, it was read a First Time.
