Wednesday, December 5, 2001 LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF MANITOBA VOTES AND PROCEEDINGS No. 15THIRD SESSION, THIRTY-SEVENTH LEGISLATURE PRAYERS 1:30 O'CLOCK P.M. Immediately following Prayers, Mr. Speaker made the following statement: It is my privilege to advise all Members, and to also advise the watching public, that the Manitoba Legislative Assembly has added closed captioning to the televised broadcast of Manitoba's question period. This issue arose as an all party initiative by the Legislative Assembly Management Commission, and has been endorsed by all Members on both sides of the house. The closed captioning can be accessed by viewers who have television sets that have the closed captioning option. The closed captioning text has also been added to the broadcasting of question period that is available on the Internet. I am truly honoured to make this announcement on behalf of all Members of the Assembly, and I would like to thank all Members for their support of this worthy initiative. By leave, Hon.
