(Sessional Paper No. 99) ______________________________ Mr. Gerald Hawranik, Member for the Electoral Division for Lac du Bonnet, was conducted by Mr. Murray and Mrs. Dacquay, to the floor of the House in front of Mr. Speaker. Mr. Murray then said: Mr. Speaker, I have the honour to present to you Mr. Gerald Hawranik, Member for the Electoral Division of Lac du Bonnet, who has taken the Oath and signed the Roll, and now claims the right to take his seat. Mr. Speaker thereupon said: On behalf of all Honourable Members, I wish to welcome you to the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba and to wish you well in your parliamentary career. Mr. Hawranik then advanced to the Chair, shook hands with Mr. Speaker and took his seat. ______________________________ Prior to Routine Proceedings, Mr. Loewen rose on a Matter of Privilege respecting statements he had made on February 13, 2002 in a public forum concerning the Crocus Fund.

THAT this Committee recommends to the Lieutenant-Governor-in-Council that Mr. Barry Tuckett be re-appointed for a second term as Ombudsman for the Province of Manitoba.

Hon. Mr. Doer, the Honourable First Minister made a statement on the death and injuries of Members of the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry, Mr. Murray and, by leave, Hon. THAT we, the Members of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, express our profound sorrow regarding the passing of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother. We pay tribute to her life of dedicated service, and to the leadership she so greatly gave through actions and through example to her country and to the world both in war and in peace. We proudly share the respect and affection in which she was held through our province, our country, our Commonwealth and the world. We extend our heartfelt sympathy to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth and to all members of the Royal Family.

Mr. Selinger: ORDERED that this House, at its next sitting, will resolve itself into a Committee to consider of Ways and Means for raising of the Supply to be granted to Her Majesty. ______________________________ Hon. Mr. Selinger delivered to Mr. Speaker two messages from His Honour, the Lieutenant Governor of the Province of Manitoba as follows:

The Lieutenant Governor transmits to the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, estimates of sums required for the services of the province for the fiscal year ending the 31st day of March 2003 and recommends these Estimates to the Legislative Assembly. The Lieutenant Governor transmits to the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, estimates of sums required for the services of the province for capital expenditures, and recommends these Estimates to the Legislative Assembly.
