The following petition was read and received:

 

Mrs. Smith (Fort Garry) – Government of Manitoba consider ensuring that local property and education taxes do not rise as a result of the offloading of provincial responsibilities onto the City of Winnipeg, the City of Brandon, the Fort Garry, Assiniboine South, Winnipeg No. 1, St. Boniface and St. Vital school divisions. (G. Dobson, V. Dobson, C. Dobson and others)

During Oral Questions, Mr. Laurendeau rose on a point of order regarding the word "scurrilous" spoken by the Honourable Minister of Transportation and Government Services and requested it be withdrawn,

Hon. Mr. Ashton voluntarily withdrew his remarks.

In accordance with Rule 24, Mrs. Stefanson rose on a grievance.

By leave, it was agreed to waive Private Members’ Business for Wednesday, July 24, 2002.

By unanimous consent, the sequence for consideration for estimates, as outlined in Sessional Paper No. 124 tabled on April 30, 2002, was further amended in order that the Estimates of Education, Training and Youth be considered in Room 255 at 4:00 p.m. for Wednesday, July 24, 2002 and also to be considered for Thursday, July 25, 2002, only.
