CLASSROOM IN THE LEGISLATURE
FOR SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS You come to us or we come to you!
The Classroom in the Legislature program is a non-partisan program run under the auspices of the Office of the Speaker.
The Classroom in the Legislature Program provides Special Interest Groups with the opportunity to come to the Legislative Building, take part in a guided tour of the building by one of the Assembly’s knowledgeable tour guides and attend the Classroom in the Legislature. The Classroom in the Legislature Program runs twelve months of the year. This program may be of interest to Seniors groups, Adult Education Centres, new Canadians or educators.
If you can’t come to us, we’ll come to you! It’s your choice! The presentation can be a general overview of how the Legislative Assembly operates with regard to the business of the Legislative Assembly, the financial process, the system of committees or anything else related to our democratic system. If there is a specific area of interest, let us know in advance and we will tailor the presentation to your request.
Learn how a bill becomes law by participating in the mock legislature. The topic can be your own or we can supply you with some suggestions.
