Inland Port Special Planning Area 

The portion of CentrePort Canada within the RM of Rosser has been established as the Inland Port Special Planning Area under The Planning Act. Land uses within the area are guided by the Inland Port Special Planning Areas Regulation 49/2016 (Development Plan and Zoning By-law). The planning authority for lands within the Inland Port Special Planning Area is the Minister of Indigenous and Municipal Relations. Below is a map of the Inland Port Special Planning Area.

Inland Port Special Planning Authority

The Inland Port Special Planning Authority is a board representing the RM of Rosser, CentrePort Canada, Winnipeg Airports Authority, the City of Winnipeg and the province. The board holds public hearings on planning proposals and provides recommendations to the Minister on land use approvals within the Inland Port Special Planning Area.
 

Specifically, the Inland Port Special Planning Authority is responsible to:

  • Hold hearings to consider the (i) adoption of, or amendment to, a development plan, a secondary plan or zoning regulation, (ii) subdivision applications, and (iii) the declaration of an obsolete plan of subdivision;
  • Hold hearings and decide appeals respecting application for variances and for conditional uses referred to the authority in accordance with the regulations; and
  • Advise and assist the Minister on matters affecting land use planning within the RM of Rosser CentrePort lands. 
 

Public Registry 

The Inland Port Special Planning Area Public Registry provides the public with information on current land use proposals and public hearing information within the Inland Port Special Planning Area.  You may also sign up to be notified of planning applications within the Inland Port Special Planning Area.
