Special Conservation Areas
Special Conservation Areas are designated to protect unique species during critical
times of the year and are posted annually. Three SCA's exist in Manitoba:
- Walter Cook SCA (59.5 ha)
- Clandeboye Bay SCA (176.4 ha)
- Churchill SCA (35,823.1 ha)
The first two SCA's were created to protect nesting Piping Plovers, while the latter
was created to protect Ross' Gull nests. |
